Every year, the first senior session of the season feels like a reset button. I never quite know how it’s going to feel until I pick up my camera and start shooting again after the winter months.

This year, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick things off. Ayla and Ashton showed up ready to go, and we had such a great time together. We started with individual photos, giving each of them space to shine on their own, and then brought them together for some sweet sibling shots.

We began the session out at the creek, wildflowers, and one of those dreamy backdrops that makes you pause and take it in for a second and thank God for where you live.

If the rain held off, we had planned to move into town for a few more shots, and thankfully, it did. We ended the evening with some downtown photos, giving them a whole different look to add to their galleries.

It was such a reminder of why I love what I do. The smiles, the nerves that slowly fade away, the moments that feel so small now but will mean so much years from now. This session set the tone for the season—and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.

Ayla and Ashton, thank you for trusting me to capture this moment in your lives. You two were the best way to start this year.
